Hi World!
I'M Angela
Angela hails from Medellin, Colombia, currently works and lives in Southern Vermont and more recently chose West Palm Beach as a great place to spend the off season.
Her first experience as an artist was while studying Industrial Design in her native Colombia. She was introduced to the Bauhaus movement of design working with practical, everyday objects. She enjoys geometrical forms as well as their architectural influences. Interestingly, more than 25 years after graduating industrial design school, the artistic side of her degree emerged with passion.
Her journey as an artist began when she created an art studio for her son in their home in Litchfield, CT. At the end of each day she enjoyed observing his work and was enthused by his playfulness with the dry oil paint. She started creating small collages with the paints she found on his palette, using them to decorate her home.
When Angela moved fulltime to Vermont in 2019, she reimagined that art studio, thought to be again for her son, but at that time he had other interests. Making it her own, she constructed the new space and couldn’t be happier. Often spending 12 hours a day stretching canvases and sampling new techniques with pieces of nature she found on her daily hikes in the woods. The studio quickly turned into her gallery and her friends couldn’t help but recognize how special her pieces made them feel.
Inspired by her dearest friends, she expanded her works and commitment to her trade.
Today Angela produces dozens of new works each month including a few commissions she has currently underway.
